Greek Signals Corps patch
Greek Army Privates' patches of the 1936 - 1941 period are quite rare to find, even on period photographs.
Among the photos of a grouping, which belonged to a Private of the 31st Infantry Regiment, recently added to the collection, a number of rarely seen Signals Corps patches are clearly visible on some of the mens' left arms.
According to the 1938 Regulation on the Privates' uniforms, page 56, paragraph 63a':
"The Privates of the Signals Corps bear [on their left arm] a woolen, bicolour stripe, 0.080 [m] in length and 0.030 [m] in height, the upper half of the length being white and the lower, red."
The stripe can be seen here, on a partially colorized, cropped version of one of the photos.
